Well, it's Thursday night here in Beijing. Yesterday, we made our trip to the American Consulate in Guangzhou for our official "swearing" that everything we had reported to them was true. Then, we were given Jensyn's passport with her visa to enter the U.S. We flew to Beijing today (well, the plane flew...we really just rode) and tomorrow morning (Friday here) we'll leave for Springfield (via San Francisco and Denver).
Back when we were making travel plans we found that flying out of Beijing today (Thursday) would cost each of us more than twice as much as if we left on Friday. An now we know why. The Paralympics were being held here in Beijing and the closing ceremonies were last evening (Wednesday)...so we figure everyone was trying to leave here today and that's why the price was higher. (Of course, the airlines could have just been playing games with everyone...but we THINK we understand the price difference.)
It's been a great trip and we're all leaving with mixed emotions. We know it will be a long time before we get to return here (to tour...China thinks we're too old to do any more adopting), but we're all ready to get back to our various routines and comforts of home. There's a lot we need to get done to get little Jensyn on her path to becoming a "Chinese-American" and it's time for us to get started.

Yay Yay Yay! I know how excited you are to be preparing to bring EVERYONE home. We also understand those mixed emotions. Our hearts ache to return to China, but we still have several years to wait. So as usual we live vicariously through your family and all the others that are generous enough to share their journeys with us.
