Catching Up : September 10 - 13

It's been several days since our last post and we need to do a little catching up.

On the adoption front : we got Jensyn's birth certificate, abandonment certificate, and adoption certificate (and the notarized English copies) on Wednesday, September 10. Then, on Thursday the 11th, we received Jensyn's official Chinese passport. On Saturday the 12th, we flew to Guangzhou on the southern coast of China (near Hong Kong), and it's here we will do what needs to be done to get Jensyn a Visa for her Chinese passport, so she can travel to the U.S. with us.

On the touring front : While still in Tianjin, we visited an area called Ancient Culture Street (also known as "buy your souvenirs here street"). We got to see the Tianjin Zoo. And we got to sample one of the food delights that Tianjin is known for - Gobuli Baozi (large steamed dumplings with a variety of fillings) - YUM!! Since arriving here in Guangzhou, we've seen the Six Banyans Buddhist Temple and the Chen Family Temple. (We'd love to show you some pics of all of this, but the Internet connection here seems to be about the speed of our old dial-up connection. We'll keep trying to get some uploaded.)

Here's a short video we WERE able to get uploaded. If you listen closely, you can here our new little Chinese daughter competing well with her older sister in a "name the picture on the card" game. More later, when the connection allows.

Good to finally hear from you guys again! & LOVE the video! I don't know if I've ever seen a child fit so well, so quickly, into their new family - wonderful to see!
